SKULL AND CROSSBONES
|
| When
on the horizon appeared a black flag with a skull and crossbones,
the meaning was clear: for boaters of Caribbean it was time
to deal with pirates. Indeed, the iconography of the "Skull
and Crossbones", the famous banner "Jolly Rogers" of pirates
and buccaneers, is famous because celebrated in countless films.
But few know that this sign is clearly linked to Freemasonry
( "Memento Mori" in a sense bound to Danse Macabre and the Triumph
of Death fashion in the'500 and was carved on the graves of
Freemasons), but still was the first flag of the Templars .
