The
number seven is magic and a lot of knowledge of the numerology
it is not necessary for understanding it: it is a first number
formed by the sum of the three (symbol of the divine one) and
the four (symbol of the material world). Seven is therefore
the divine one that manifests it in the subject, tied up to
flow some time, to the union between sky and earth. The "seven
mythological" are nearly endless: in casual order, they are
seven the colors, seven the notes, seven the aromas, seven the
metals in the antiquity, seven the years of troubles if a mirror
breaks; there is the crisis of the seventh year in the marriage,
seven are the dwarves of Snowhite, seven the spirits of the
cats (what however they also have nine lives), seven the shirt
to be sweat; seven are the principal meteorological phenomenons,
the planets for the Babylonians, seven are the Pleiades, the
daughters of Atlas (said "the seven sisters"), seven are the
stars of the Ursa Maior, seven the skies for the astronomer
Tolomeo; seven the wonder of the ancient world (the Pyramid
of Cheope, the Mausoleum of Alicarnasso, the Lighthouse in Alexandria,
the Colossus of Rodhes, the temple of Artemis at Efeso, the
statue of Jupiter at Olimpia and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon),
seven are the Wise of Athens, seven the seas; seven are the
seals of the apocalypse, that will be announced by the trumpets
of seven angels. Remaining in Christian theme, seven are the
sacraments, seven the virtues and seven the capital sins. In
other religions for the Koran the world leans on seven columns
supported by a giant; seven are the chakras of the Hinduism
(as the Vedas), while similar it is the concept of the seven
arms of the candelabrum Menorah of the Judaism. |

The Pleiades, in the Constellation of the Taurus, are a stellar
heap formed by seven stars, denominated Alcyon, Maya, Merops,
Sterops, Taigetes, Celenos and Electra. |
Seven has a clear reference in the human physiology:
the embryo becomes fetus after seven weeks and traditionally the
birth happens after seven new moons. But there is a city that
seems to have done of seven its tutelar number: Rome. Obviously
it is the City from the Seven Hills; the seven kings; the seven
churches of the jubilees; finally, the seven fairy objects that
protected the city, that are: the needle of Cibele; the black
stone of Pergamo; the scepter of Priamo; the ashes of Oreste;
the Quadrigue of the Voientis; the veil of Ion; the shields Ancilii;
the statue of Atena dictates Palladium. In short, Rome is the
triumph of seven!
