mammal extraordinary for intelligence and sociability, the dolphin
is also an esoteric symbol. The qualities of cunning and ingenuity,
coupled with the exceptional cases of rescue of human beings
in the open sea, have always been amazed that the man in the
millennia has the emblem of the Savior of the soul, and how
this related to the gods saving: Horus, Attis, Apollo to the
most recent Jesus Christ. Starting from the Egyptians, who identified
the "good" dolphin with Horus as opposed to the perils
of the sea associated with the evil Seth, to the Greeks who
saw the cetaceus in an apotropaic version opposed to octopus
symbol of evil, the dolphin means light contrasted with the
darkness. The significance of this interpretation is not simple,
but comes without a doubt from the name etimology, "delphis"
in greek means uterus and remember, as in Greece there was a
very important Oracle sacred to Apollo in the city of Delphi.

The fact that the dolphin is a mammal similar
to the fish, making it a symbol of motherhood, fertility and femininity:
this is the meaning of the name and this explain the association
with the Egyptian goddess Hathor, and more recently with the goddess
Aphrodite . From there, it was established the connection between
the uterus and the divine birth of the Savior, is understood in
a more human we can all be dolphins, we are all potential saviors
of our soul and our inner light. The dolphin then becomes allegory
for everything that is good in the universe and the goal we must
achieve.
